Maple Lane was created by listening.

For two decades, we’ve had the privilege of listening to people living with cognitive change and their care partners through our work with To Whom I May Concern®, an innovative theatre program founded by Maureen Matthews, PhD, RN. Together, participants have shared their experiences with honesty, humour, courage, and remarkable insight.

Again and again, we heard the same questions.

What do I do now?

Where do I turn?

Who can help me?

And perhaps the hardest question of all…

Is it still possible to live a meaningful, joyful life?

Although awareness of dementia has grown over the past twenty years, these questions remain surprisingly difficult to answer.

Many people receive a diagnosis and then return home with little guidance about what comes next. Some communities have excellent memory clinics and support services. Many do not. Too often, the help people receive depends on where they live.

We believe everyone deserves better.

No one should have to navigate life after a dementia diagnosis alone.

That’s why we created Maple Lane.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every person living with dementia—and every care partner—has access to trusted guidance, meaningful relationships, and hope for the road ahead.

Whether you live in the heart of a large city or a small rural community, Maple Lane brings expert knowledge, practical tools, and genuine human connection directly to you.

Because everyone deserves a place where they belong.

The MAPLE Framework

Everything we do at Maple Lane is guided by the MAPLE Framework—a philosophy shaped by nearly twenty years of listening to people living with dementia and their care partners.

Maple Lane Framework

M — Meaningful Connection

Friendship, belonging, and community come first. No one should have to face dementia alone.

A — Adaptation

Life changes after a diagnosis, but a meaningful life is still possible. We help people adapt with confidence, creativity, and purpose.

P — Planning for Possibility

Planning isn’t about preparing for the worst. It’s about making thoughtful choices that create confidence and preserve what matters most.

L — Learning from Lived Experience

Some of life’s greatest wisdom comes from people who are living this journey every day. Their experiences, encouragement, and practical insights help others move forward with hope.

E — Encouragement at Every Stage

No matter where you are on the dementia journey, you’ll find people who care, guidance you can trust, and hope for the road ahead.

A place to belong. A place to learn. A place to move forward—with hope.
